Description |
Jar, ceramic - Tizon Brown Ware (earthenware); fragmented; fire-altered; coiled and hand built with paddle and anvil technique; diamond body shape with a recurved rim and flat lip; one side blackened by fire with white accretions around the edges; large loss on side of body with a crack emanating down to the base of vessel and a crack on the upper right side of loss; rim edging rough with small pieces missing/broken; small crack from rim down to body; erosion and spalling on exterior; surface scratches; sediment inside vessel. Dimensions: Height: 16.5", Width: 13.5", Circumference: 44", Rim diameter: 6.5", Weight: 7 lbs. |
