Description |
Jar, ceramic -Tizon Brown Ware (earthenware); fragmented and reconstructed; coiled and hand built with paddle and anvil technique; elongated oval body shape with a 5.25 inch diameter mouth and a straight rim and flat lip; storage jar; at least 8 to 10 missing pieces/holes; repair by Carol Serr at unknown date; unknown adhesive used to reconstruct vessel is apparent; one sherd has come unglued and is lying free; scratches on outer surface; three sets of repair holes drilled to tie a crack together (consistent with Native repair techniques). According to collector's notes the jar was found in a cave on its side. Dimensions: Height: 22", Width: 15", Circumference: 51", Mouth diameter: 5.25", Weight: 16.7 lbs. |
